Senior
Shane Henderson led the way for the Seawolves in the first day of the Colonial Relays. Henderson earned a second-place finish and a new personal best in the 1500 meter invitational with a final time of 3:47.04.
Graduate
Aiden Smyth finished directly behind Henderson in third with a personal best time of 3:47.65. Junior
Gavin Da Vanzo completed the top-five finishes for Stony Brook with a fourth-place finish in the high jump. Da Vanzo recorded a final mark of 1.84m.
The Distance Medley Relay team took home a first-place finish on day two with a final time of 9:53.99. The squad was comprised of
Robert Becker, Smyth, Vazquez, and Henderson.
The team finished tied for 10
th place overall with New Hampshire with a total of 30 points.
DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Patrick Abel secured a seventh-place finish in the 200 meter dash with a final time of 21.64. Nicolas Lavazoli and Justin Vazquez finished behind Abel in 16th and 27th place, respectively. Lavazoli also earned a top 30 finish in the 100 meter dash.
- Alex Kanes earned a ninth-place finish in the long jump with a final mark of 6.70m.
- Eben Bragg clocked in at 3:57.01 which was good for a 19th place finish and a new personal best in the 1500 meter.
- Aleks Zdravkovic crossed the line in 49.19 to earn a 16th place finish in the 400 meter dash.
- Steven Struk earned a top 25 finish in the 5000 meter invitational with a final time of 14:34.32.
DAY TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Miles Ryan earned a fifth-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles invitational with a final time of 14.89.
- Dolapo Babalola secured a ninth-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles invitational with a final time of 15.34.
- Joshua Titus clocked in at 15.38 to earn an 11th place finish in the 110 meter hurdles invitational.
NEXT UP
Stony Brook is back on the track on Friday, April 14 when it competes at the Northeast Challenge in Storrs, Conn. and at the Friar Invitational in Providence, R.I.
