WILLIAMSBURG, Va. —The No. 5 Stony Brook tennis team (11-7, 3-1 CAA) marked their first-ever CAA Tournament appearance and win in program history this afternoon after defeating the No. 12 Towson University (5-17, 1-9 CAA) in dominating fashion, 4-0.
After earning a point due to a default, the senior-tandem of Mathilde Sreeves and Kristine Theys began the charge for the Seawolves by earning a 6-3 victory for the squad, their first of the day, to secure the team point for Stony Brook.
In singles, Sreeves wasted no time giving the Seawolves their second point of the afternoon by earning a 6-1 and 6-1 victory, her fourth consecutive win of the season.
