RICHMOND, Va. – Stony Brook women's lacrosse graduate defender
Haley Dillon has been named CAA Co-Defender of the Week, for her performances against Johns Hopkins and Drexel, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Dillon, recently named a ILWomen Midseason All-American, picked up a career-high six ground balls and registered two caused turnovers against the Blue Jays, in a 12-9 win on Wednesday at Homewood Field.
The Mount Sinai, N.Y., native added to her dominant week, tallying a team-high three caused turnovers and four ground balls in the 15-3 victory over Drexel on Sunday afternoon.
Dillon helped anchor a defense that held Drexel scoreless for around 56 minutes and held them to only three goals, the lowest amount the Dragons have scored since 2018 (scored two against JMU on 4/8/18).
The graduate is the first player in program history to earn the CAA Defensive Weekly honor in Stony Brook's inaugural season in the conference. Dillon is the third player from the Seawolves to earn a CAA Weekly honor joining
Kailyn Hart and
Ellie Masera.
The Seawolves hit the road again for a Friday matchup with Monmouth on April 7 in West Long Branch, N.J. Face-off is slated for 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on FloLive.
