BALTIMORE, Md. – Three Stony Brook women's lacrosse players were tabbed ILWomen All-Americans, the media organization announced on Thursday morning.
Junior
Ellie Masera is a Second Team selection, while senior
Kailyn Hart and graduate
Haley Dillon both earned Honorable Mention accolades after helping lead the Seawolves to their fifth NCAA Round Two trip in the last six tournaments.
Masera has had a junior season to remember as she has already been selected to the IWLCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team, USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American First Team, was named the CAA Midfielder of the Year, voted to the All-CAA First Team, and earned the CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Performer honor after she helped lead the Seawolves to a 19-4 victory over Towson to claim the conference title.
In addition to her recent accolades, the junior was named the IWLCA Offensive National Player of the Week for her outstanding performance in the regular season finale against Hofstra on April 28. Masera ranks fifth in the nation in goals (71) eighth in goals per game (3.74), sixth in points per game (5.00), and fourth in shots on goal per game (5.95).
Hart was also named an IWLCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region honoree and a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American, earning Second Team and honorable mention accolades, respectively. Like Masera , Hart was tabbed to the All-CAA First Team and was selected to the CAA All-Tournament Team. She ranks second in the CAA in goals per game (2.89) and points per game (4.11), and sixth in assists per game (1.21). The senior tallied 14 hat tricks this season and has done so in each of her last 10 games. Hart also earned ILWomen Midseason All-American Honorable Mention honors and was the first Seawolf to be named the CAA Player of the Week.
Dillon is no stranger to the postseason recognition. The graduate from Mount Sinai, N.Y., was named to the CAA All-Conference Second Team and was the first Seawolf to earn CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors and was tabbed as an ILWomen Midseason All-American Honorable Mention. She finished the season ranking in the top 50 nationally and fourth in the league for caused turnovers per game (1.61). Dillon helped anchor the fourth best scoring defense in the nation and best defense in the CAA this year.
