STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The 2023 Stony Brook football season is just around the corner as the Seawolves returned to the gridiron for their first preseason practice at LaValle Stadium Tuesday morning
.
In total, 109 football student-athletes reported to camp for an energetic first practice, which began at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
Tuesday's practice included reps from junior
Casey Case, who was named the program's starting quarterback and a pair of Preseason All-CAA defenders in defensive lineman
Taylor Bolesta and linebacker
Aidan Kaler. Both Bolesta and Kaler were named Phil Steele Preseason All-CAA Fourth Team while Kaler also took an Honorable Mention All-Conference pick from the league.
Tuesday was the first of 20 total days on the field during preseason camp. Stony Brook will scrimmage twice during the preseason with the first being held on Aug. 9. The Seawolves next practice will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 9 a.m.
The Seawolves are set to kick off the 2023 campaign on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. against Delaware at LaValle Stadium.
