BUIES CREEK, N.C. --The Stony Brook volleyball team earned a three-set sweep (25-22, 26-24, 25-19) against the Campbell Fighting Camels on Saturday afternoon on the road at Gilbert Craig Gore Arena.
The victory moved the Seawolves' record to 16-12 overall and 9-9 in CAA play to close out the regular season. Stony Brook would clinch their third-straight CAA postseason berth after securing the win.
Kali Moore finished with 14 kills on the day to lead the Seawolves as
Abby Campbell,
Leoni Kunz,
Quinn Anderson, and
Ayanna Pierre Louis each contributed to the Stony Brook attack. Defensively,
Madison Cigna and
Julia Patsos each tallied double figure digs with 16 and 11, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | The Seawolves opened up an early lead, winning the first set, 25-22. Stony Brook never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage early as they tallied 12 kills on .189 hitting, while supplementing their offense with three aces. Moore notched five kills through the opening frame.
SET 2 | Stony Brook capitalized on their lead by securing a 26-24 victory in the second set. The Seawolves came out on top, winning in a close stanza that was tied four times and had four lead changes. The Seawolves racked up 17 kills over the course of the set, hitting a match-high .238 and holding the Camels to a match-low .135. Pierre Louis, Campbell, and Moore each recorded four kills to fight their way back in a back-and-forth set.
SET 3 | Stony Brook closed the match in a 3-0 sweep, leading from the opening point to earn a 25-19 victory. The Seawolves hit .175 with 13 kills as Moore added five of those kills to highlight a stellar season. The Stony Brook offense also got a boost from five aces in the stanza.

NEXT UP
The Seawolves will head to Towson University for the CAA Championships beginning next Thursday. Stony Brook earned the No. 6 seed and will face the No. 3 seed with the race for the top spots still being determined in either Charleston, Delaware, Hofstra, or Towson.
