STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Following their overtime thrilling victory over Bryant on Saturday, the Stony Brook football team earned the No. 17 spot in the FCS Stats Perform Top-25 Poll and No. 18 ranking in the AFCA Coaches Top-25 Poll as announced by both organizations this morning.
The No. 17 spot for Stony Brook is the highest they've been ranked in either poll since the squad came in at No. 17 on Oct. 15, 2018. The Seawolves have received votes in the Stats Perform Top-25 Poll for the last eight weeks and the previous nine weeks from the AFCA organization.
In their last time out, Stony Brook prevailed with a stop on Bryant's two-point conversion in the extra frame to secure the 31-30 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Seawolves improved to 7-2 on the year and 4-1 in Coastal Athletic Association play, while the Bulldogs fell to 2-7 and 0-5.
Stony Brook returns to Long Island this weekend as they host UAlbany for the Golden Apple. Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m. and can be streamed on FloFootball.
