STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook Athletics is proud to announce the remarkable success of Giving Day 2024, an event that showcased the unparalleled generosity and support of the Stony Brook community towards advancing the University's mission.
 
Giving Day, held on March 27, rallied alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends in a collective effort to champion Stony Brook Athletics' initiatives. Through a series of compelling appeals, challenges, and engaging activities, supporters united to demonstrate their unwavering commitment to the Athletics department.
 
Giving Day proved to be another great success for Stony Brook Athletics as 459 donors contributed $64,424 towards enhancing the athletic experience for Seawolves student-athletes, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to excel both on and off the playing field. These investments are instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence, empowering our student-athletes to achieve their fullest potential and represent Stony Brook with pride and distinction.
 
"Once again, I am overwhelmed by the incredible support for Stony Brook Athletics throughout this most recent Giving Day. The need for financial contributions has never been greater, and the response from our extended Seawolves family is further evidence that together we can achieve anything that we set our minds to," said Director of Athletics Shawn Heilbron.
 
As Stony Brook celebrates the success of Giving Day, the University looks forward to the continued advancement of its athletic programs, fueled by the unwavering support and generosity of its community.

• 2019 Giving Day (April) - $22,195 raised, 230 Donors
• Seawolves In Need (Spring 2020) - $25,615 raised, 155 Donors
• 2020 Giving Day (October) - $23,830 raised, 259 Donors
• 2021 Giving Day (April) - $35,123, 358 Donors
• 2022 Giving Day (April) - $57,350, 372 Donors
• 2023 Giving Day (March) - $137,599 raised ($330,026 generated including matches & challenges), 402 Donors
• 2024 Giving Day (March) - $64,424, 459 Donors
