STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook women's basketball head coach Joy McCovery announced the addition of Devyn Scott (Guard, 5-8, Montgomery, N.Y.) to the program. Scott signed with Stony Brook on Thursday.

Scott joins the Seawolves after two seasons at Florida Atlantic and Fairleigh Dickinson. Over the course of her collegiate career, Scott has appeared in 110 games, accumulating 500 points, 305 rebounds and 244 assists. In 2020-21, the guard was named to the 2020-21 All-NEC Rookie Team while at Fairleigh Dickinson. While with Florida Atlantic, Scott was selected to the 2022-23 Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for her efforts off the court.

"We're really excited to bring Devyn back home to New York," said head coach Joy McCovery. "She's an experienced play-making guard with tremendous athleticism. She's an elite passer who will make others around her better and will also bring a toughness on the defensive end."

During her time in Boca Raton, the guard amassed 214 points, 104 rebounds, 98 assists and 49 steals in 55 appearances for the Owls. Scott scored a season-high 17 points in a victory over South Florida on Feb. 17, 2024, then followed that up with a 16-point performance at UTSA on Feb. 25. She ended February with a season-best eight assists, adding 10 points, to lead her team to victory over Tulane on Feb. 28.

Scott's collegiate career began at Fairleigh Dickinson, spending two years with the Knights. In her freshman season, Scott was named to the All-NEC Rookie Team. As a sophomore, Scott played in 30 games, making 29 starts, tallying 164 points, 110 rebounds and 81 assists.

Scholastically, Scott was a four-year letter winner and starter at Gill St. Bernard's School, while also playing AAU ball with the NJ Sparks. Scott scored 602 points, grabbed 197 rebounds and tallied 198 steals during her time at GSBS. She was named Second Team Skyland All-Conference as a junior and senior. Outside of the classroom, Scott was the co-founder of the Black Student Union at Gill St. Bernard's.
