NEW YORK, N.Y. -  The Stony Brook tennis team opened its fall slate on Friday at the Columbia Invitational in a matchup against tournament host Columbia.

Freshmen Lorin Tilipman, Maria Perez, Isadora Fares, and Mila Charles all made their collegiate debut for the Seawolves on Friday.

The squad then returned to the court on Saturday in dominant fashion over Wagner College on day two of the Columbia Invitational. The Seawolves cruised to victory, not dropping a single match in doubles and singles competition.

Stony Brook took care of business in doubles competition, going three for three on the day, with Mia Palladino and Elena Lobo-Corral taking match one. Kristi Boro and Lorin Tilipman won match two, and Cornelia Bruu-Syversen and Sara Medved won match three. Stony Brook shined in doubles competition, winning all three matches by a combined 19-9 scoreline.

The Seawolves carried their momentum into singles matches, winning all six against Wagner. Palladino, Lobo-Corral, Tilipman, Boro, Bruu-Syversen, and Medved all secured match wins for Stony Brook.

Stony Brook tennis team continued its Columbia Invitational play against Cornell in doubles competition on Sunday.

The Seawolves picked up a win in game two, with Cornelia Bruu-Syversen and Sara Medved pulling out a 6-3 victory.

QUOTES FROM THE SEAWOLVES

"It was a great way to start off our fall season and see where we are," said head coach Thiago Dualiby. "Playing a ranked team right off the bat and a lot of quality teams over three days helped us get feedback on what we need to work on and what adjustments to make. I am also happy that our freshman team got their first wins as Seawolves and thankful to our team for the energy, hard work, and commitment shown throughout practices and the weekend. We look forward to keep building."
