WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -The Stony Brook volleyball team fell to William & Mary in three sets on Saturday afternoon at Kaplan Arena. Leoni Kunz finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Seawolves attack. Defensively, the squad had a pair of players reach double figures in digs, including Julia Patsos' 11, and another 10 from Torri Henry.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | The Seawolves dropped set one, 25-22, despite a solid performance on the attacking end as they put together a .314 attack percentage with 13 kills. The team went ahead 10-6 lead before the Tribe would tally four straight points to even the score. William & Mary found themselves in front before Stony Brook rallied to a 18-18 tie. The Tribe would later go on a 6-3 scoring run to close out the set and win.
SET 2 | A 25-23 loss put Stony Brook behind by two sets. The Seawolves fought back from a seven-point hole to start the set, taking a 9-8 lead but it wouldn't be enough as William & Mary hung on through the frame and took advantage with a dominant offensive performance.
Kali Moore carried the squad through the set with five kills.
SET 3 | Stony Brook was unable to find their rhythm as William & Mary finished with a three-set sweep. The Seawolves fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before falling in the set 25-14.

Kristin Belzung postgame. "Honestly it felt like a series of missed responsibilities on our end defensively which led to worse opportunities to score. Every match is going to be a battle and we need to be more crisp to get the win. We will use this as a chance to get better. Excited to be back home in Pritchard next weekend."
