STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Head coach Joe Spallina announced the Stony Brook women's lacrosse schedule for the 2025 season, a competitive slate which highlights non-conference games against ranked opponents in Johns Hopkins, Denver, Princeton, and Colorado and six home contests including a 2024 CAA Championship rematch, as announced on Wednesday.

"Really excited about the schedule we were able to put together for our team," stated Spallina about the 2025 season. "For this program, it's always about preparing for the postseason and this schedule provides some great challenges."

Stony Brook will play five teams which finished top 25 in the ILWomen/IWLCA Division I Poll to close out the 2024 season, taking on No. 12 Johns Hopkins, No. 14 Denver, No. 15 Princeton, No. 21 Drexel, and No. 22 Colorado.

A total of four teams on the Seawolves' schedule qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship, as Stony Brook, Johns Hopkins, Denver, and Princeton all advanced to the Second Round.

The 2025 schedule features eight CAA matchups beginning on March 8. Stony Brook will also play three games against the America East, along with a pair against the Big Ten and Big East, and one game against the Big 12 and Ivy League to round out non-conference action.

The Seawolves will play all of its games in February on the road, beginning the season against Bryant (February 12) and then facing Villanova (February 19) and UAlbany (February 23). All-time, Stony Brook is a combined 25-1 against its February opponents in the Spallina era.

Stony Brook then opens their home slate at LaValle against John Hopkins (March 1). The Blue Jays finished last season at No. 9 in the RPI and slot in at No. 10 in the USA Lacrosse Way Early Rankings. Stony Brook has gone 7-4 against Johns Hopkins in a series dating back to 2010.

Non-conference play continues as the Seawolves travel to New Jersey to take on Rutgers (March 5), while looking to continue their success after a 13-10 victory over the Red Knights last season.

Stony Brook opens CAA action playing host to Towson (March 8). The Seawolves defeated the Tigers last season, 11-8 and have won all 11 meetings between the two programs.

There's nothing quite like a spring break trip as the Seawolves head out west to take on Denver (March 18) and Colorado (March 20). Stony Brook travels back to the East Coast as the focus shifts towards conference play again as the Seawolves face off against Delaware (March 23).

Stony Brook is back on Long Island for a trio of home games to close out the month of March and kick off April when Vermont (March 26), William & Mary (March 30), and Monmouth (April 4) come to town.

The Seawolves wrap up their non-conference slate traveling to Princeton (April 9) before getting right back into conference action with a pair of road contests down south against Elon (April 11) and Campbell (April 13).

A rematch of the 2024 CAA Championship follows as Drexel (April 18) makes it way to LaValle before the Seawolves close out CAA play and the regular season in the Battle of Long Island at Hofstra (April 26).

The 2024 CAA Women's Lacrosse Championship will be held at the highest seed's facility, with semifinal and finals action set for Thursday, May 1 and Saturday, May 3. Stony Brook will look to defend its back-to-back CAA titles in the 2025 season.

Game times will be announced at a later date.
