OPENING KICK
  • The Seawolves enter the game with a 3-4 (1-2 CAA) record this season after falling at No. 10/11 Monmouth on October 18.
  • In that defeat, Jayce Freeman totaled 220 yards, including a 95-yard kick return touchdown — Stony Brook's first kick return touchdown since Sherman Alston in 2016 (at Richmond).
  • This will be the 11th meeting between the two programs, with Towson leading the overall series 6-4.
  • Stony Brook snapped a four-game losing streak dating back to 2018 against Towson with their 52-24 victory last season.
  • The Seawolves will celebrate their 2025 Homecoming on Saturday afternoon.
  • Stony Brook owns a strong Homecoming record of 14-4 dating back to 2006 at LaValle Stadium, including wins in three of their last four Homecoming games.
  • Towson arrives on Long Island with a 3-4 (1-2 CAA) record in 2025. They were projected to finish sixth in the CAA Coaches Preseason Poll.
  • Tigers QB Andrew Indorf was named to the 2025 Jerry Rice Award Watchlist, honoring the best freshman FCS player.
  • On offense, RB Roland Dempster ranks second in the CAA in rushing yards, rushing yards per game, and rushing touchdowns. He also ranks 17th in the FCS and second in the CAA in all-purpose yards per game.
  • Stony Brook's defense is led by Anthony Ferrelli, who leads the team with 66 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one interception. Dyshier Clary, AJ Roberts, and Franco Milano have combined for 9.5 sacks this season, while Miles McGoy ranks 10th nationally and leads the CAA in passes defended in 2025.
  • This will be the Seawolves' eighth game of the season, their fourth of six home games at LaValle in 2025.
LAST TIME OUT
  • Stony Brook wide receiver Jayce Freeman led the Seawolves with 220 total yards, including a 95-yard kick return touchdown, but the No. 10/11 Monmouth Hawks scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to claim a 49-21 win in New Jersey.
  • Freeman was a bright spot all afternoon, setting a new career-high with 220 total yards. He led the team with 63 yards on five catches and added a career-best 157 return yards on four attempts, highlighted by his electrifying 95-yard touchdown.
  • For the first time this season, all three Stony Brook quarterbacks saw action. Chris Zellous started, going 13-for-22 for 103 yards and two interceptions. He also led the ground game with 107 rushing yards on 17 carries. Casey Case entered in the fourth quarter, finishing 7-for-12 with 76 passing yards and three rushing yards. Quinn Boyd made his collegiate debut, completing 4-of-7 passes for 26 yards.
  • The Seawolves spread the ball around, with 10 different players recording receptions. Behind Freeman's team-best 63 yards was Marqeese Dietz, who tied for the team lead with five catches for 41 yards. Ikaika Ragsdale also caught five passes for 18 yards, while Dez Williams and RJ Lamarre combined for five catches and 50 yards.
  • Roland Dempster continued his consistent production with his sixth straight game of 90+ rushing yards, finishing with 92 yards on 19 carries and scoring his team-leading seventh touchdown of the season. He also added 10 receiving yards on two catches. Ragsdale ran for 11 yards, and Dylan Harris contributed three more off the bench.
  • Defensively, Anthony Ferrelli led the team with 13 tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss. Sebastian Regis and AJ Roberts each recorded a sack, while Dyshier Clary and Chayce Chalmers added 1.5 tackles for loss apiece. In total, 18 Seawolves registered a tackle.
  • Stony Brook is now 12-39 all-time against nationally ranked FCS teams.
  • The Seawolves are 4-9 all-time against Monmouth.
HOMECOMING GAMES OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS! 
  • The Seawolves hold a 14-4 Homecoming record dating back to 2006 at LaValle Stadium, including wins in three of their last four Homecoming games.
  • Last season, Stony Brook earned its first victory over a ranked opponent since 2021, defeating No. 15 William & Mary. Dempster led the way with 144 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns.
  • Stony Brook battled Towson in their 2016 Homecoming but fell 21-14. The Seawolves jumped out to a 14-0 lead before Towson scored 21 unanswered points to win. Joe Carbone and Conor Bednarski both threw touchdowns in the loss.

ABOUT THE TIGERS 
  • Towson is led by 23rd-year head coach Pete Shinnick, who owns a career record of 174-82 across West Florida, UNC Pembroke, and Azusa Pacific. He holds a 15-15 overall record in his first three seasons at Towson.
  • The Tigers hold a 3-4 (1-2 CAA) record this season, with wins over Norfolk State, Morgan State, and Bryant. Towson comes off back-to-back home losses to Elon and Monmouth before their bye week.
  • Freshman QB Andrew Indorf has been one of the top freshmen in FCS, recently named to the 2025 Jerry Rice Award Watch List, honoring the most outstanding freshman in FCS play.
  • The true freshman from Florida has started all seven games for Towson, posting a 61.9% completion rate for 1,458 yards, nine touchdowns, and just three interceptions. He has thrown for over 230 yards in three games and is a two-time CAA Rookie of the Week.
  • Al Wooten II leads the backfield with three rushing touchdowns and 306 rushing yards this season.
  • Jaceon Doss and John Dunmore have combined for seven touchdowns and nearly 800 receiving yards.
  • Defensively, Jasin Shiggs leads the team with 44 tackles and is one of four players with an interception this season. CJ McClendon paces the team with 5.0 tackles for loss, while Rodney Roane Jr. and Ja'Mez Drummer each have a team-best 2.0 sacks.
  • Defensive backs Myles Brodie and Xavier Terry were named to the 2025 CAA Preseason All-Conference Team. Additionally, Dunmore and Rodney Roane Jr. received CAA Football Preseason All-Conference Honorable Mentions.
  • Grant Udinski '19 will serve as the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025. A 2018 CSC Academic All-America® First Team selection, he spent the last three years as assistant OC for the Minnesota Vikings.
  • The Tigers were predicted to finish sixth in the league in the preseason coaches poll, receiving 108 points. They currently sit 10th in the conference.
