STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Seven members of the Stony Brook football program earned postseason All-CAA recognition from Phil Steele, as the publication announced today.

Earning postseason recognition were defensive lineman Dyshier Clary (Second Team), running back Roland Dempster (Second Team), linebacker Anthony Ferrelli (Second Team), long snapper Trey Wallman (Second Team), wide receiver and kick returner Jayce Freeman (Third and Fourth Team), defensive back Miles McGoy (Fifth Team), and tight end Cole Bunicci (Fifth Team).

A First Team All-CAA and All-ECAC selection, Clary adds to his postseason résumé by securing his third honor of the offseason. He led the team with 14.5 tackles for loss for 52 yards, the seventh-most in a single season in program history. Clary recorded 6.5 sacks, six of them solo, and helped anchor a defense that allowed the second-fewest rushing touchdowns and fifth-fewest rushing yards in the conference. He totaled 39 tackles on the season to go with a fumble recovery and three quarterback hurries, logging a tackle in 10 of 12 games, highlighted by 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks versus No. 7/10 Villanova.

Adding his second postseason honor after earning First Team All-CAA recognition from the conference, Dempster concluded the 2025 season with 1,037 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, while adding a career-high 35 receptions for 292 yards. He recorded more than 100 total yards in eight games, including four with over 100 rushing yards, and scored multiple touchdowns in four contests, highlighted by a three-touchdown performance against Merrimack. Dempster's 3,119 career rushing yards rank top three in program history, while his 35 rushing touchdowns and 36 total touchdowns both stand second all-time.

After earning Second Team All-CAA honors earlier in the offseason, Ferrelli added his second postseason award. The team captain posted a career-high 109 tackles (52 solo, 57 assisted), ranking fifth in the CAA and 23rd in the FCS in total tackles and tackles per game. He finished the season with 6.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, his first career interception, a forced fumble against Fordham, and three pass breakups. Ferrelli recorded at least four tackles in every contest, including five games with 10 or more, and logged a season-high 16 tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss against Maine. His 109 tackles tied for the third-most in program history for a single season.

Wallman earned the first postseason honor of his career with a Second Team All-CAA selection by Phil Steele. The long snapper helped Stony Brook convert a perfect 35-for-35 on extra point attempts and played a key role in freshman kicker Michael Mannino setting the program record for longest made field goal at 49 yards. Wallman started every game and delivered 51 snaps to punter Clayton Taylor, helping the Australian post the fifth-highest yards-per-punt average (40.45) in program history.

Freeman collected his second dual postseason honor after being named Third Team All-CAA at wide receiver and Honorable Mention as a kick returner by the conference. The Maryland native set career highs with 41 receptions for 774 yards and eight touchdowns, leading the team in all three categories. He surpassed 100 receiving yards in three games, including a season-high 178 against Lindenwood, recorded three multi-touchdown performances, and scored in each of the final three games. Freeman caught at least three passes in 10 of 12 contests and averaged 112.8 all-purpose yards per game, adding 354 kick return yards, highlighted by a career-high 157 yards and a touchdown against Monmouth.

After earning CAA Honorable Mention earlier in the offseason, McGoy collected his second postseason award. The cornerback set career highs with 30 tackles (23 solo), eight pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries, recording at least two tackles in 10 of 12 games. His season was highlighted by a six-tackle, one–fumble recovery performance against Bryant and five tackles against No. 7/10 Villanova. McGoy finished tied for fifth in the CAA in pass breakups, tied for the conference lead in fumble recoveries (12th in the FCS), and added a tackle for loss against N.C. A&T.

A Phil Steele All-CAA selection a season ago, Bunicci concluded his collegiate career with at least one reception in 11 of 12 games this season, totaling 315 receiving yards on 27 catches with one touchdown. In 2025, the tight end led the position group and set career highs in receptions, receiving yards, and yards per game. He finished his career on Long Island with 698 receiving yards on 54 catches and three touchdowns across 35 games.
