RICHMOND, Va. — Stony Brook sophomore
Francesca Baber was named the CAA Co-Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday morning after leading the Seawolves to their first ECAC Championship since 2010 and earning ECAC Swimmer of the Meet honors.
Baber contributed three victories and two second-place finishes at the championship meet, winning the 1650 freestyle in 17:27.36 and the 200 freestyle in 1:53.31, while adding a runner-up finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:59.89. Earlier in the year, Baber earned her first CAA Swimmer of the Week honor on November 18 after achieving four event victories, becoming the first Seawolf of the season to secure three individual wins in a single meet. She claimed first place in the 200 freestyle (1:53.81), 100 freestyle (52.38), and 500 freestyle (5:11.49).
Stony Brook returns to the pool on January 9 to host Monmouth in its first meet of the new year at University Pool, with competition set to begin at noon.
