STONY BROOK, N.Y. – For the second time this season, Avery Hines of women's lacrosse earns CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Hines' lockdown defensive play continued as she caused six turnovers and picked up three ground balls in a two-game week against Rutgers and Towson.

The four caused turnovers at Rutgers were her second-most in a game this season (caused a program record eight turnovers against Villanova on February 18). She added two ground balls in the overtime loss to the Scarlet Knights.

Hines tallied two caused turnovers and one ground ball in a 17-6 victory over Towson to open CAA play. The senior defender leads the conference with 16 caused turnovers (2.67 per game) and ranks sixth in the nation.

After a 10-day hiatus, Stony Brook heads across the country for Spring Break as they take on Denver on Tuesday, March 18 at 11 a.m. (MT) and Colorado on Thursday, March 20 at 5 p.m. (MT). The Seawolves are 5-7 all-time against the Pioneers and Buffaloes combined.
