SPARKS, Md. – Stony Brook women's lacrosse alumnus Ally Kennedy '21 was named to the official U.S. Women's National Team roster for the Pan-American Lacrosse Association Women's Championship later this month.

Kennedy was one of 22 players selected to the official roster, containing a solid blend of players with national team experience and players making their international championship debuts.

Headlining the roster are six members of the 2022 U.S. team that captured the World Lacrosse Women's Championship gold medal including Kennedy, Sam Apuzzo, Ally Mastroianni, Marie McCool (also a 2017 world champion), Charlotte North and Caylee Waters. Five others have also won U19/20 world championships with the U.S. program in Shea Baker (2024), Emma LoPinto (2024), Emma Muchnick (2024), Izzy Scane (2019) and Madison Taylor (2024). The other 11 players will be competing in an international championship event for the first time.

This marks the first time any of the U.S. national teams will participate in a PALA continental qualifier. The eight-team championship features Argentina, Canada, Haudenosaunee, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and the United States. The top four finishers will earn spots in the Division I bracket of the 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championship in Japan with the next three finishers qualifying for the Division II bracket.
 
The U.S. has won the last four World Lacrosse Women's Championships, bringing home the title in 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2022.

Kennedy will partake in the PALA Women's Championship from June 26-30 at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Fla.
