LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the seventh season in a row and the 11th time in program history, the Stony Brook volleyball team received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award sponsored by Intent, as announced by the organization on Monday.

To be recognized, teams must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the academic year. Stony Brook met that requirement in both the fall and spring semesters with GPAs of 3.39 and 3.30, respectively, for an annual GPA of 3.35.

A record 1,451 collegiate and high school teams earned academic recognition for their academic success. The Seawolves were among the 233 NCAA Division I honorees.

The Seawolves were one of seven CAA schools to earn the honor in 2025, joining Campbell, Charleston, UNC Wilmington, Northeastern, Hofstra, and Elon.
