STORRS, Conn. - Stony Brook fell to UConn, 1-0, on Sunday on the road at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. The Huskies scored the lone goal of the match in the 11th minute, holding the Seawolves scoreless to hand the Seawolves their second loss of the 2025 campaign.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stony Brook's Jona Hennings stopped the first shot she faced in the fourth minute of play, but the Huskies struck in the 11th minute to open the scoring. The Seawolves offense managed just two shots in the first half, with Kristina Garcia's try in the 36th minute forcing the UConn keeper to make a save. Stony Brook totaled just three more shot attempts in the second half with just one on target. After making two stops in the first half, Hennings stoned the lone shot she faced on target in the second half to keep UConn off the board. Despite the defensive effort to limit the reigning Big East Champion UConn Huskies to just one goal, Stony Brook's offense could not find an equalizer.
