RICHMOND, Va. - The CAA announced its annual preseason awards and rankings on Thursday, with Stony Brook's Jaden Daughtry being named Second Team Preseason All-CAA and Collin O'Connor earning an honorable mention while the Seawolves were ranked seventh overall.

Daughtry transferred to Stony Brook after a standout season at Richmond last year. As a junior he led the A-10 with a 45.3 3-PT% (minimum 50 attempts), good for the highest mark by any Spider since 2001. His 52.0 FG% also ranked 10th in the conference and made him one of just seven Division I players to shoot at least 52% from the field and 45% from behind the arc in 2025-26. In total, Daughtry posted 276 points (8.9 ppg) and 92 rebounds (3.0 rpg) in his junior season. All of this followed two seasons at Indiana State in which he racked up 450 points (10.2 ppg) and 158 rebounds (3.5 rpg), earning him spots on the MVC Most Improved Team and All-Bench Team in 2025.

As for O'Connor, the 2025 CAA All-Rookie selection will look to bounce back following an injury shortened 2025-26 campaign. In eight games last year, he owned a .550 FG% and .800 FT% to go along with 60 points (7.5 ppg) and 20 rebounds (2.5 rpg). O'Connor enters the season in 10th place on the program's all-time assists per game leaderboard at 2.9 apg. 

The Seawolves are coming off a 17-15 season in which they went 9-9 in the conference to capture the No. 8 seed in the CAA tournament. This year, the Seawolves welcome nine newcomers to the team, including multiple with Power 4 experience and overseas playing time.
