NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Stony Brook men's track & field wrapped up its regular season with a strong showing on Saturday at the Giegengack Invitational. Two Seawolves recorded event wins to headline a day with 14 total top-eight finishes.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman Jamal Joseph showcased his speed to win the 200-meter (22.54).
- T'Vario Willis outjumped the field, winning the high jump (1.95m).
- Andres Acosta Mondriguez finished second in the 500-meter, setting a new PR (1:04.95).
- Joseph posted another solid performance in the 400-meter, finishing third. His time of 50.41 set a new PR in the event.
- Acosta Mondriguez, Matthew Brodsky, Jaden Medrano, and Walesky Nowak placed third in the 4x400 meter relay (3:23.19).
- Ryan Scarry picked up a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (9.04).
- Brodsky placed third in the 500-meter with a PR time of 1:05.05.
- Ryan Swinea finished fourth in the 400-meter (50.50).
- Andrew Lawler recorded a fifth-place finish in the 1,000-meter. His time of 2:28.92 was a new best for the freshman.
- Swinea placed sixth in the 200-meter (22.84).
- Luke Clackett came in seventh in the 400-meter. He set a new PR with a time of 51.64.
- David Onovo recorded an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter (53.38).
- Medrano placed eighth in the 500-meter and also set a best time of 1:06.14 in the event.
- Nick Tardugno finished eighth in the 3,000-meter (8:47.18).

Stony Brook is back in action again, starting next Sunday, February 22, for the two-day CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston.
