RICHMOND, Va. — Stony Brook women's lacrosse swept the CAA Women's Lacrosse weekly awards after a gauntlet of a week that featured ranked matchups against Colorado and Northwestern.
Isabella Caporuscio (Offensive Player),
Hailey Huebner (Co-Defensive) and
Mirabella Altebrando (Rookie) all claimed weekly honors from the conference.
Caporuscio tallied 15 points on 12 goals and three assists in a 2-1 week for Stony Brook. Caporuscio started the week with a six-goal performance in a rout of UConn. In a home win over a Colorado squad ranked as high as No. 4, Caporuscio registered a hat trick, finishing with four points. She closed the week with a five-point outing (three goals, two assists) in a narrow loss to No. 4 Northwestern. Contributing on both ends, Caporuscio added 11 ground balls and caused eight turnovers.
Huebner played in and started all three games in a 2-1 week for Stony Brook, registering eight caused turnovers and five ground balls. She caused three turnovers against both Colorado and Northwestern.
Altebrando registered eight points (three goals and five assists), adding two ground balls and a caused turnover, in a 2-1 week for Stony Brook. Altebrando scored in all three contests, amassing a combined five points in contests against Colorado and Northwestern.
Stony Brook returns to action with another pair of ranked opponents on tap this week. The Seawolves host No. 19 Denver on Friday, March 6 (12 pm) before traveling to Baltimore to meet No. 9 Johns Hopkins on Sunday, March 8 (11 am).
