STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Stony Brook women's lacrosse honored its 2026 senior class in style with a dominant 15–4 win over Long Island foe Hofstra on Friday night. The victory marked the Seawolves' 10th consecutive win, clinching a share of the CAA regular-season championship while also extending Stony Brook's conference regular-season winning streak to 75 games.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Seawolves continued their trend of fast starts, as they quickly jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal from
Isabella Caporuscio set up by a caused turnover by
Katie Walsh. Following the first goal, the Pride would tally two out of the next three goals, evening the score at 2-2 with 5:13 remaining in the first quarter. Stony Brook retook the lead with the final goal of the quarter, thanks to a player-up goal from
Julia Fusco.
In the second quarter, the Seawolves continued to pad their lead, scoring two goals in the first five and a half minutes, extending their lead to three. Stony Brook added another three goals to close out the first half with an 8-2 advantage. In addition to the five goals scored, the Seawolf defense stifled Hofstra in the second quarter, allowing no goals and forcing four caused turnovers.
Stony Brook carried its momentum into the second half, quickly scoring three goals to open the third quarter and start the running clock as the Seawolves now led 12-2. This was followed up with another two scores, while Stony Brook's defense held the Pride scoreless for a second straight quarter.
The Seawolves added one more goal in the fourth quarter, securing the 15-4 win with ease at LaValle Stadium.

- Today's win was Stony Brook's ninth consecutive win in the Battle of Long Island over Hofstra.
- Following today's victory, the Seawolves have also won 75 straight regular-season conference games. A streak dating back to 2015.
- Additionally, the win improved Stony Brook to 35-0 all-time in CAA games, including regular-season and conference tournament games since it joined the conference before the 2023 season.
