BROOKLINE, Mass. - Stony Brook erased much of an early deficit and pulled within one run, but Northeastern answered key moments late to secure a 7-4 win over the Seawolves on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- Freshman Dylan Henshaw made the start for the Seawolves this afternoon. The right-hander allowed three runs in the bottom of the first inning as Northeastern took a 3-1 lead.
- Stony Brook responded in the top of the second by cutting its deficit to 3-2. Matthew Jackson began the rally with a single and, after stealing second base, scored on a single by Zampieron.
- Northeastern answered in the bottom of the second inning, scoring two more runs to extend its lead to 5-2 after two innings of play.
- Stony Brook continued to battle in the top of the third inning as Chanz Doughty led off the frame with his ninth home run of the season to cut the deficit to 5-3. Later in the inning, Scott Gell brought home Chris Carson on a sacrifice fly to make it a 5-4 game.
- After Nicholas Rizzo recorded the final out of the second inning, he returned in the third and tossed a 1-2-3 scoreless frame.
- Following a scoreless top of the fourth for the Seawolves, Rizzo worked out of trouble in the bottom half by helping strand a runner at second base with a strikeout to end the threat.
