STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Postseason awards have begun for the Stony Brook baseball team, as four student-athletes earned All-CAA recognition when the conference announced its postseason honors this afternoon.

Leading the way was outfielder Nick Zampieron, who was named to the All-CAA Second Team. Infielder Chris Carson, outfielder Nicholas Dromboski and starting pitcher Micah Worley were each named All-CAA Honorable Mention. Dromboski was also selected to the All-Rookie Team in his first collegiate season.

Zampieron anchored the Seawolves lineup as the primary leadoff hitter during his sophomore year. He led the team with a .363 batting average, 65 hits and 28 stolen bases, which ranks sixth in program history for a single season. He also scored 40 runs and drove in 25 while posting a .438 on-base percentage. Zampieron led the team with 24 multi-hit games and recorded a 16-game hitting streak, the longest on the roster. In conference play, he hit .354 and finished the season with a .971 fielding percentage and two assists.

Carson started all 51 games at first base and served as a key middle-of-the-order bat, hitting in the No. 3 and No. 4 spots throughout the season. He led the team in at-bats (191), tied for the lead in doubles (11), and led the squad in triples (4) and total bases (91). Carson set career highs in hits (54), doubles, triples, home runs (6) and RBI (32), while batting .328 in CAA play. He recorded 12 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games. Defensively, he posted a .995 fielding percentage in 403 chances.

Worley earned All-CAA Honorable Mention after a strong senior season on the mound. He was named CAA Pitcher of the Week in back-to-back weeks on April 13 and April 20. He struck out a season-high 13 batters over 7.2 scoreless innings at Hofstra, then followed with 10 strikeouts over 8.0 scoreless innings at Monmouth. Worley finished second in the CAA with 93 strikeouts, which is tied for fifth in program history in a single season. He posted a 3.12 ERA, the third-best mark in the conference, along with a 6-5 record over 69.1 innings. In conference play, he went 4-4 with a 3.29 ERA. He struck out at least five batters in nine starts and held opponents to a .220 batting average.

Dromboski earned both All-CAA Honorable Mention and All-Rookie Team honors after a strong freshman campaign in the outfield. He became the first Seawolf to earn CAA Rookie of the Week honors this season on April 6. He hit .340 with 52 hits, 40 runs scored, nine doubles, two triples, five home runs, 27 RBI and 13 stolen bases. Dromboski led all rookies on the team in every offensive category and ranked among the top five on the team in most offensive categories. He had 17 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games, and posted a 28-game on-base streak, the longest on the team this season. He led the team with a .440 on-base percentage, drawing 25 walks and being hit by three pitches. He also had three games with four runs scored, the only player on the team to do so. Defensively, he finished with a .988 fielding percentage in 85 chances.
