Emily Lemke netted goals to keep Stony Brook unbeaten through four contests.
The opening half was a defensive showcase, dominated by the two goalkeepers. Penn's Megan Graves and Stony Brook's Jona Hennings each made a series of crucial saves, with Graves recording one stop and Hennings three. The first period concluded without a breakthrough, leaving the score dead‑locked at 0‑0.
Momentum shifted decisively after the halftime break. Stony Brook increased its offensive output, registering ten shots in the second half, six of which tested the Penn net. The Seawolves' first goal came in the 72nd minute, when George capitalized on a precise pass from Eva Sprewell. George's header left Graves with little chance to react, giving the home side a 1‑0 lead.
Buoyed by the lead, Stony Brook continued to press. Then with five minutes to play, Lemke added a second Stony Brook goal to ice the contest. Lemke scored following a rebound off of a Leah Rifas attempt that hit the crossbar and bounded towards the near post. Lemke's finish pushed the Seawolves' advantage to 2‑0 and forced Penn to chase the game in the closing stages. Stony Brook's defense held firm, preserving the clean sheet.
