On Tuesday evening, the All-American Football Foundation honored Stony Brook head football coach Sam Kornhauser with the Johnny Vaught Head Coach Award at the 60th All-America Football Foundation Banquet of Champions at the New York Hilton.
Kornhauser, who enters his 21st season at Stony Brook in the fall, was presented with the Johnny Vaught Head Coach Award at a banquet held in Manhattan. He was one of three honorees to receive the award along with Kevin Callahan of Monmouth and Walt Harris of Pittsburgh. He is the only coach in the program's 20-year history and has led the Seawolves to a 14-6 mark over the last two seasons.
Stony Brook opens up the 2004 season at Lehigh on September 4.
