Kerri Harris Named Assistant Softball Coach

Stony Brook, N.Y. - First-year head softball coach Megan Bryant has named Kerri Harris assistant coach, who begins her first season as a collegiate coach this spring.

Harris spent last year at Bay Shore High School, where she acted as assistant coach and head coach. As assistant coach, her primary duties were instructing the outfielders and designing and implementing conditioning and plyometric workouts. From August 1999 to October 1999, she acted as head coach, scheduling games and designing team and individual practice plans.

In addition from 1999 to the present, Harris has acted as a private hitting instructor for girls ranging from ages 10-18.

Harris has also been a coordinator of the West Islip Softball Camps and head counselor of the Hitter's Haven Softball Camp.

Harris, who was an outfielder at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., will be involved in every aspect of the Stony Brook softball program, and her primary responsibility will be working with fielding and hitting.
