The Stony Brook men's soccer team was stunned by NAIA Nova Southeastern by the score of 2-0 Friday night in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Nova Southeastern's defense was the story in this one as it allowed only one shot on goal throughout the entire game. Stony Brook's defense was also outstanding but the Knights were able to break through late in the game.
A little over 82 minutes into the game Rafael Ferreiro passed a perfect ball to Carlos Cedena who attacked the goal and scored. Four minutes later the Knights pushed forward again and Ferreiro converted a breakaway to seal the 2-0 win.
Dan Ferrin made four saves in goal for Stony Brook which fell to 11-2-2. The Seawolves are back in action on Sunday when they take on Florida International. Kickoff is 12:00 p.m.
