The Stony Brook baseball team will be one of six schools to join the New York State Baseball Conference when play resumes in March of 2001. Albany, Binghamton, CW Post, NY Tech and Pace will be the other five teams in the conference.
Stony Brook will play four games against each of the five teams. All six teams will advance to the conference championships May 12-14 at Pace University. The tournament will be double elimintation.
The Seawolves begin the season March 2 at Akron in Buies Creek, NC at 3:00.
The conference season begins march 31 when the Seawolves host CW Post at 12:00 p.m. as part of a four-game weekend set.
Fifteen players return from a team that went 30-11 a season ago. The Seawolves welcome 22 newcomers.
