Stony Brook, N.Y. -
After scoring both gamewinning goals in Stony Brook's two conference victories last weekend, senior midfielder Jamie Gaither was named Stony Brook Athlete of the Week.
In a 1-0 win over Hofstra on Friday, Gaither took a cross from freshman Mike Salvador in the 53rd minute, and his shot to the far post would stand as the Seawolves earned their first victory over the Pride in 20 years.
Two days later on Senior Day, the Seawolves fell behind 1-0 to Drexel before tying the game at 61:42. As Stony Brook headed into its fifth overtime game of the season, Gaither would step up again. Less than five minutes into the extra period, Gaither gathered a rebound and sliced it into the goal for his fourth gamewinner of the season.
Gaither has tallied a team-leading five goals and two assists this season.
