Softball Impressive Again; Whips UMass-Lowell 9-1

Orlando, Fla. - Stony Brook's impressive Florida trip continued Friday morning with a convincing 9-1 win over UMass-Lowell. Tricia Lipareli and Tory Menchise hit homers for the streaking Stony Brook squad which has won seven of its nine games in Florida.

Stephanie Poetzsch went five innings, giving up only two hits and a run while striking out eight to improve her record to 5-0 on the year. Lipareli finished the day 3-for-4 with three RBI and Menchise chipped in with two hits and three runs batted in.

Corinne Vish also provided some offense with a hit and two RBI.

SB is now 7-2 and plays its final game in Florida Friday afternoon against East Stroudsburg.
