The Stony Brook softball team earned its first-ever berth in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships this weekend, the conference announced today. Dartmouth University will serve as host of the tournament.
The Seawolves, who won the most games this season in the program's history with a 21-21 finish, are seeded fourth and will open play against No. 1 East Carolina. Rounding out the field are No. 2 Dartmouth and No. 3 Columbia.
Stony Brook faces the defending champion Lady Pirates (48-23) on Saturday, May 12, at 10 a.m. The second game features the 2000 runner-up Dartmouth (21-17) against Columbia (25-23).
The double-elimination tournament will conclude with the championship game on Sunday, May 13, at 2 p.m.
