Munir Named America East Player Of The Week

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook junior guard D.J. Munir (Providence, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) was named America East Player of the Week on Monday, December 23, the America East announced. Munir is the first Stony Brook player to earn Player of the Week recognition since Stony Brook joined the America East last year.

Munir made his season debut against Hofstra, scoring a game-high 23 points to lead Stony Brook to its first win over the Pride since 1985 and only its second win in 16 tries against its Long Island rival.

The Seawolves (5-4) are back in action on December 31 when they travel to take on Seton Hall. Game time is 1 p.m.
