Steve Booth capped off a seven-run rally with a two-out solo homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning as San Francisco beat Stony Brook, 8-7, Wednesday afternoon. The Seawolves (8-7) finished their spring trip to California with a 2-4 record. San Francisco snapped its six-game losing streak.
The Seawolves (8-7) built a 7-1 lead in the fourth inning keyed by a three-run homerun by Andrew Larsen in the first, an Ed Kull two-run blast in the fourth and a solo shot by Rob Sandora.
San Francisco rallied with a three-run fourth inning and tacked on another in the fifth to cut the lead to 7-5.
The Dons tied it in the eighth with two runs off reliever Graham Wildt.
Lee Lipschutz was on second base with one out in the ninth, but the Seawolves couldn't plate him.
Nick Abel retired the first two batters in the ninth, but Booth hit his 11th of the season to win the game for the Dons and Abel was saddled with the loss.
Ed Kull continued his tear with two hits, including his second homerun of the year. Andrew Larsen had three RBI with his homerun in the first and now has 13 on the season to lead the team.
