The Stony Brook women's tennis team handily defeated Dowling, 7-0, in the Seawolves' last regular season dual match on Wednesday.
The Seawolves swept all three doubles matches and all six singles contests, dropping just one set along the way. Senior Deanna Ghozati, playing in her final home match, teamed with Olesya Ianovitch at No. 3 doubles for an 8-2 victory, then coasted to a 6-0, 6-0, win at No. 6 singles. Senior Martha Barrett also won in both singles and doubles to close out her home career. Barrett rallied for a 5-7, 6-1, 6-2, victory at No. 1 singles.
No. 2 Patricia Gomez won 6-2, 6-0, while Karen Hansen won 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3 singles. Georgia Bushell recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles while Ianovitch captured a 6-0, 6-0, victory at No. 5.
The Seawolves, who have won nine straight dual matches, head into this weekend's America East Conference Championships with a 13-4 overall record.
