Adelphi scored two second half goals to post a 2-0 win over Stony Brook in the 2001 season finale Saturday afternoon. Stony Brook finishes its first season of America East play with a 6-9-2 overall record, 3-7-1 in conference action.
The Panthers limited the Seawolves to one shot on the day, outshooting the Brook 9-1 for the game.
Tal Sheinfeld put the Panthers ahead in the 70th minute, taking a pass from Marlon McEachnie and beating goalie Matt Thibdeau for a 1-0 advantage. McEachnie came back with a goal of his own in the 78th minute to seal the win for Adelphi which improved to 7-8-1 on the season.
Thibdeau made eight saves in a losing effort for Stony Brook.
