Men's Soccer Falls To UC Irvine, 3-0

Final Stats

Two second-half goals by Lerato Simelane helped lead the UC-Irvine Anteaters to a 3-0 victory over Stony Brook at the UC-Irvine College Classic on Monday.

Simelane tallied in the 72nd minute and then in the final two minutes of the game to extend UCI's lead to 3-0 final score. Jesse Peron scored the gamewinner in the first half for the Anteaters.

Stony Brook's Dan Ferrin had five saves in the goal while UCI's Cameron Rossi recorded three. UCI (1-0-1) outshot the Seawolves 18-6.

Stony Brook (0-2) returns home on Sat., Sept. 7, when the Seawolves play host to Holy Cross. Kickoff is 4 p.m.
