Men's Hoops Hosts New Hampshire On Sunday

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook men's basketball team wraps up the regular season schedule when the Seawolves host New Hampshire (4-22, 2-13) on Sunday. Sunday's game will determine where Stony Brook will be seeded in next weekend's America East tournament. A win could vault the Seawolves into a No. 4 spot. Prior to the game, the Seawolves will honor Larry Jennings, Patrick Spitler and Joakim Eriksson -- seniors who will be playing their final home games on Sunday.

BACKDROP: Stony Brook closes out the regular season schedule by playing host to New Hamsphire. Today's game will determine where Stony Brook will be seeded in next week's America East tourney.

RADIO INFORMATION: The game will be broadcast on Island Talk 540 WLIE on the internet at www.goseawolves.org and on WUSB 90.1 FM.

HEAD-TO-HEAD: The series is level at 2-2 after a Stony Brook win in Durham, N.H. earlier this year.

VERSUS THE AMERICA EAST: Stony Brook posted a 5-11 record last year in its inaugural season of America East play. SB is 13-24 all time against America East teams.

LAST TIME OUT: Stony Brook snapped a three-game losing streak with a 77-70 win over Binghamton. Leading 50-40, SB saw BU go on a 13-0 run to take the lead. D.J. Munir then scored seven of his game-high 31 points to ignite a 20-11 run that saw the Seawolves take control. Cori Spencer's three-point play with 1:33 to go gave SB an insurmoutable 73-66 lead. Munir's 31 points led the way for the Brook while Jairus McCollum finished with 11 and Bobby Santiago added 10. Mike Orfini came off the bench to register seven points and eight boards.

SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE: Freshman Shejdie Childs leads the team in scoring at 10.1 points per game. Ben Sturgill is coming off a career-high of 25 points in a loss to Boston University on Wedneday night. Jeff Senulis leads the team in rebounding at 6.1 per game.

SENIOR DAY: Seniors Patrick Spitler, Larry Jennings and Joakim Eriksson will be honored before Sunday's game.

PLAYOFF POSSIBILITIES: Today's America East matchups will finalize the seedings for next week's tournament. Boston Univ. has wrapped up the No. 1 seed and Vermont is locked in a No. 2. Seed three through six are still up in the air. Here is a look at what could happen:

SB is the No. 4 seed with: a win over UNH and losses by Maine and Northeastern
SB is the No. 5 seed with: a win and a loss by either Maine or Northeastern
SB is the No. 6 seed with: a loss or wins by both Maine and Northeastern.

PLAYOFF SCHEDULE: The first round of the America East playoffs will take place as follows: (Sun., March 9)

Noon	1 seed vs. 8 seed
2:30	4 seed vs. 5 seed
6:00	2 seed vs. 7 seed
8:30	3 seed vs. 6 seed

WHITE HOT: D.J. Munir scored a game-high 31 points against Binghamton on Wednesday night, the third time that he has scored 30 or more points this season. He shot 10 of 14 (.714) from the field -- his best shooting effort of the season.
