The Stony Brook baseball team has jumped into the top 15 of the Northeast Coaches Poll for the week of April 22. The Stony Brook bats have been a major cause for the Seawolves break in the top 15 and have given opposing pitchers cause for concern. The Brook is currently batting at a .305 clip at the plate with a .506 slugging percentage. Matt Russo has belted seven homeruns in 31 at bats, while Matt Devins has 14 doubles and a .358 batting average.
The Seawolves are off to a hot 19-11 start in 2003 and is making its first appearance in the top 15. The University of Richmond remains in the top spot for the seventh straight week. Also making appearances are Marist, Vermont and Maine - all Stony Brook opponents.
