Women's Lax Falls To BU In America East Semifinals 15-4

Boston, Mass. - Boston University defeated Stony Brook, 15-4, to advance to the title game of the America East Championship Thursday at Nickerson Field on the Boston University campus. America East Player of the Year Alyssa Trudel set an America East Championship record with five assists to go along with two goals as the Terriers won their 11th consecutive game.

Boston University scored the first six goals of the game, with Trudel scoring one and assisting on two others, to jump out to a quick 6-0 lead with 15:04 left in the first half. Stony Brook broke into the scoring column on a goal by Marrisa Trachtenberg at the 12:35 mark, but the Terriers scored five of the next six goals to take a commanding 11-2 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Boston University led, 15-4, with 9:05 remaining and kept the clock running much of the second half to advance to the conference championship game for the fourth consecutive year.

Trudell finished with seven points on two goals and the record five assists and now has 77 points on the season, which establishes a new Boston University single-season record.

Tractenberg led Stony Brook with two goals. Jill Gridley and Danielle Werner had the other tallies for SBU. Stony Brook finished the season 7-10.
