Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Chris Megaloudis netted his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the opening minute of play as Stony Brook blanked Maine 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at LaValle Stadium. With the win, the Seawolves improved to 10-5-2 on the season and 3-3-2 in America East play, while the Black Bears fell to 4-8-3 and 1-5-2.
The Seawolves got on the board just 43 seconds into the match when Zach Norwood sent a cross from three yards out on the right side and found a charging Megaloudis, who headed the ball past Maine goalkeeper Chad Mongeon to give SB the 1-0 lead.
SB, which outshot Maine 15-6 in the contest, controlled play for much of the remainder of the match, while goalkeeper John Moschella (7-2-2) turned away all four of the Black Bears' shots on goal to preserve the victory. Mungeon (4-8-3) turned away two stops in the loss.
The Seawolves wrap up their regular season when they host Northeastern on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. for Senior Day.
