Shirlee Manoogian was named America East Swimmer of the Week after helping the Seawolves to a 161-136 victory, breaking three new Stony Brook records, America East announced Tuesday afternoon.
The junior started off the meet, helping her 200 medley relay team to a first place finish. She then went on to touch the wall first in a time of 24.22 in the 50 freestyle, breaking her old record of 24.66. Manoogian also took first and set a new mark in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.11, shaving over a second off of her own 53.96. She finished the day winning the 400 IM and setting a new record of 4:30.91, blowing by her old record of 4:35.99 in the event.
Manoogian and the rest of the Seawolves will be back in the water on January 22 for a 1:00 p.m. tri-meet with Vermont and St. Peter's.
