HAMPTON, Va. - Stony Brook women's swimming and diving returned to the pool for day two of the 2026 CAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday, scoring 109 points throughout a full day of events.
The Seawolves opened the day with prelims in the morning and afternoon, with solid performances across multiple events, leading to five members of Stony Brook punching tickets to the night's final session.
With a strong prelim of score of 218.70,
Natalia Chornomidza advanced to the finals of the 3-meter dive.
With a time of 4:58.92 in the 500-yard freestyle,
Francesca Baber advanced to the event's consolation finals.
Meredith Yuhasz secured a spot in the bonus finals with a clocking of 5:04.82 in the prelims of the 500-yard freestyle.
Elaine Liu finished the 200-yard IM prelim race in 2:06.93, earning a spot in the consolation finals.
On the diving board in the 3-meter,
Mykayla Lavery scored 212.70 in the prelims for a spot in the consolation finals.
Later that night in the finals session, Chornomidza improved upon her prelim performance with a finals score of 226.55 in the 3-meter finals, finishing eighth overall and scoring 22 points for the Seawolves.
Baber placed seventh in the 500-yard freestyle consolation finals (4.59.82), scoring 12 points in the process. Yuhasz also placed seventh in the events bonus finals (5:05.20), scoring two points for Stony Brook.
Liu improved upon her time in the 200-yard IM consolation finals with a final clocking of 2:06.28. She placed 7th and added 12 team points.
Lavery picked up a sixth-place finish in the consolation 3-meter dive finals (192.30), which scored 13 points for the Seawolves.
Stony Brook also competed in the 400-yard medley relay. The team of
Sara Baxter,
Pelagia Chazov,
Michelle Vu, and Baber finished sixth (3:49.50), scoring 48 team points in the process.
