Softball Falls to Rider 2-0 at ECU Pirate Clash

Greenville, N.C. - The Stony Brook softball team fell to Rider, 2-0, in its final game at the ECU Pirate Clash on Saturday afternoon. Laura Bradford and Sarah Hoffman were named to the all-tournament team for the Seawolves, who fell to 2-8 on the season.

Hoffman was cruising all afternoon up until the bottom of the fifth when, with two outs, she allowed a single and a two-run home run to give the Broncs a 2-0 lead.

The Seawolves registered five hits, but were unable to manage any runs on the afternoon.

Hoffman allowed two runs on six hits while striking out four over six innings of work. Jamie Neuner went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases to lead SB.

The Seawolves return to action March 12-14 when they travel to Elon, N.C., to compete in the Elon Phoenix Classic.
