Angela Andrews was named the America East Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 18, as the league office announced on Monday. Andrews, who has won 11 of her last 14 appearances, picked up a pair of wins over Vermont, allowing just one earned run on nine hits in 14.0 innings of work for the Seawolves.
It is the second time this season Andrews has earned the accolade.
The sophomore started off the Saturday double header with a five-hit shutout, striking out four in the victory. She then allowed just one run on four hits while striking out four in a slim 2-1 win in the final game of the series on Sunday.
Andrews moved to 13-15 on the season and lowered her ERA to 4.07. She leads the staff with 152.2 innings in 31 appearances, five shutouts and 83 strikeouts so far this season.
