Women's Soccer Upended By Delaware 2-1

Annapolis, Md. - The Stony Brook women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Delaware Friday afternoon in the first round of the Naval Academy Tournament in Annapolis, Md. The loss drops the Seawolves to 1-2-1.

Delaware's Lindsay Boyd opened the scoring in the 15th minute when she knocked home a cross from Melissa Kunisky to put UD up 1-0. The Blue Hens extended the lead early in the second half. A throw-in found its way to the middle of the penalty area and Alli D'Amico kicked in the loose ball for a 2-0 advantage.

Victoria Feliciano helped Stony Brook slice into the lead in the 90th minute after she was taken down in the penalty box. Feliciano converted the penalty kick for her first goal of the season to make the score 2-1.

Cindy Bennett made seven saves in the loss.

Stony Brook is back in action on Sunday when it takes on Navy. Kick-off is 3 p.m.
