Stony Brook, N.Y. -
The 2005 Stony Brook men's lacrosse schedule will feature seven home games and matchups against Penn State, Hofstra, Massachusetts and Rutgers as part of a 14-game regular season slate, head coach Lars Tiffany announced.
The Seawolves open up with three straight home games beginning with Delaware on February 26. Wagner (Mar. 5) and Army (Mar. 8) will visit Stony Brook in early March before the Seawolves hit the road for their annual meeting with UMass on March 12. Stony Brook will return home following its game against the Minutemen to take on Penn State (Mar. 19), its first meeting against the Nittany Lions since leaving the ECAC Lacrosse League after the 2001 season.
Stony Brook will then travel to Rutgers (Mar. 22), which finished the season at No. 10 in the 2004 USILA poll, before opening up the America East schedule at Quinnipiac on March 26. The Seawolves host Albany, the defending America East champions, on April 2 before beginning a three-game road swing that goes to Hartford (Apr. 9), Siena (Apr. 12) and concludes at Vermont (Apr. 16).
UMBC comes to town on April 23 and then Stony Brook once again will square off against local rival Hofstra (Apr. 26). The Seawolves wrap up the regular season against Binghamton on April 30.
