Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Stony Brook guard Antwan Hardy and Vermont forward Josh Duell share America East Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday. It was the third straight straight week that Hardy has earned the award, his fourth time overall.
Hardy averaged 12.5 points, two rebounds, two assists and 1.5 steals per game to help Stony Brook to a 1-1 mark last week. He scored a team-high 15 points and had three steals in Saturday's win over Hartford. He has now scored in double figures in 10 straight games, the third longest current streak in the America East.
Hardy, who leads the team in scoring at 12.8 ppg., has now matched the highest conference rookie of the week total for any Stony Brook player since the Seawolves joined the America East. Mitchell Beauford also earned the honor four times last season.
Stony Brook (7-8, 2-4) is back in action on Wednesday night when it travels to Binghamton. The game will be carried live on the MetroChannel. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
