The Stony Brook men's basketball team travels to Northeastern Wednesday night for an America East matchup. The Seawolves (7-10, 2-6) look to avenge an early season loss to Northeastern and earn a split in the season series. Tip-off is 7 p.m.

Last Time Out: Stony Brook shot only 18 percent from the field in the first half and made only four baskets from the field, falling behind 36-16 to Binghamton at the break. The Seawolves never recovered from the bad start and went on to lose by the score of 72-45. Jairus McCollum led all Seawolves scorers with 17 points.
Versus NU: Northeastern owns a 4-3 series edge after a 75-69 win over Stony Brook back in December. The Huskies have now won the last three meeting between the two teams.
Last Time We Met: Stony Brook and NU tangled back on December 21 and Jose Juan Barea led NU to a comeback win. SB trailed at the half but rallied to take an eight-point lead in the second half before Barea led a charge to put the Huskies back in front. Clinging to a one-point lead with a minute remaining, Barea found Shawn James under the hoop for a dunk to seal the win. Barea finished with 30 points. James and 13 rebounds and six blocks. Cori Spencer finished with 15 points for SB while Antwan Hardy and Mike Popoko each had 14.
McCollum On A Roll: Senior Jairus McCollum has averaged 12.8 ppg. and 6.1 rpg. in his last five games, including a season-high 17 points versus Binghamton. He has scored in double figures in five straight and 5 of 6 since entering the starting lineup.
Top Rookies: Wednesday's game will feature two of the best newcomers in the America East. SB's Antwan Hardy has won four America East Rookie of the Week honors this season while NU's Shawn James has won the award twice.Hardy earned for the award for the first three weeks in January.
Decorated Freshman: Antwan Hardy is the most decorated freshman in the America East so far this season and equalled the highest amount of Rookie of the Week awards that any Stony Brook player has received. Mitchell Beauford was also recognized four times by the conference last season.
